German styles are especially fun to experiment with because it feels so verboten. Despite its hefty size, this beer is remarkably clean, crisp, and balanced. We brewed this beer with traditional German lager malt, and loaded up the whirlpool with floral German hops and aromatic, fresh lime zest. We then fermented it a low temperature, before dry hopping with an exciting blend of German and American hops, to create an overall hop profile that exhibits interesting characteristics of lemon and orange. We then added a little extra lime, before cold conditioning the beer for several weeks to give the beer a bright, refreshing finish.
