Two weeks ago, we announced our plans to brew 6 collaborative beers with 6 different breweries spanning each major continent. We want to showcase unique stories and interesting breweries that share our passion for adventure, as well as the strong history of collaboration and innovation globally within the brewing industry.
Today we are happy to announce the fist of our partner breweries:
Kyoto Brewing Co.
Kyoto Brewing Co. was founded by three friends united in Aomori, Japan. Despite being from wildly different backgrounds they forged a friendship over snowboarding and a mutual interest in the nuances (or lack there of) of Japanese macro lager. After coming to the conclusion that Japanese macro lager wasn’t the perfect beer, Ben, Chris and Paul decided to open their own brewery.
Thanks to their appreciation for the artisanal history and particularity about quality and flavour found in Kyoto, the team strongly believed that there was no better place for a company determined to create a product that focuses on a well-crafted, nuanced, complex, balanced fusion of different culture's ingredients and techniques than their adopted home.
Teaming up with Kyoto Brewing Co. we will be brewing Temple, a Satsuma & Seaweed Gose. Clocking in at a refreshing 4%, Temple is brewed with konbu seaweed, satsuma peel, flaked rice & sea salt. This gose balances a light and dry sour character with a distinct salt profile and is rounded out with notes of citrus and a final subtle hint of umami.
Temple will be available in limited edition 500ml cans and also in a small run of mixed 6-packs containing all of our Continental Collaboration beers, which you can pre-order now on our online shop.
All the beers we brew for this project will also be available on our epic 22 day, 21 bar Continental Collaboration Tour – check out the blog here to find a date near you.
Stay tuned for our next brewery announcement!
