Continental Collaboration | Europe | Brasserie De La Senne
Our Continental Collaboration series is not just about travelling the world and making beer. It is also a mission to learn all we can about brewing in other countries around the world – including both innovation and tradition. Coming from London, a city steeped in brewing tradition, we are extremely aware of the importance of the history that beer is steeped in, especially in Europe. This series has allowed us to learn more about beer’s global heritage, and what that heritage means to other brewers and breweries and how they interpret it. Because of this, the Continental Collaboration series is not only a showcase of modern breweries working together, but us all taking our collective knowledge of the history of beer and turning this into something spectacular.
We’re proud to announce that, representing Europe, the penultimate brewery joining us on our Continental Collaboration series is;
Brasserie De La Senne
The beers of Brasserie de la Senne are produced by two passionate brewers from Brussels: Yvan De Baets and Bernard Leboucq. They work in a small brewery honouring the traditional ways of brewing beer; making unfiltered, unpasteurised beers, using only the finest ingredients. Their dedication to uncompromising quality is definitely one of the outstanding characteristics of Brasserie De La Senne, and something we really admire about their work. In a country with such a long and distinguished history of brewing as Belgium, it can be difficult to reconcile this history with innovation and experimentation, but the team at Brasserie De La Senne do this with ease.
Alongside Brasserie De La Senne, we will be brewing Homage, a Hallertau Blanc dry-hopped saison. Earthy and spicy hops are married with a spicy yeast character to produce a dry and refreshing summer beer. The Hallertau Blanc hops we’ve used add interesting top notes of passionfruit and grape to round off this (not-quite) traditional beer.
Homage will be available in limited edition 500ml cans and also in a small run of mixed 6-packs containing all of our Continental Collaboration beers, which you can pre-order now on our online shop.
All the beers we brew for this project will also be available on our epic 22 day, 21 bar Continental Collaboration Tour – check out the blog here to find a date near you.
