Who doesn’t love a road trip? Not many things can match the excitement that comes when you’re crammed shoulder to shoulder with your best friends, the beer is packed, and the open road is crying out to begin your adventure. Here’s our top five road trips accessible from Melbourne, the inspiration for our Mornington Flat White IPA.

1.       The Great Ocean Road

Road Trip! Lay witness to the incredible range of scenery along the south-west of Victoria. The rugged coastline is amazing enough, but the rainforests, lakes and native wildlife help make The Great Ocean Road one of the best road trips in the world. Make yourself the ultimate playlist, get a car full of mates and soak up the beautiful drive. Like they always say, it’s the journey not the destination.

2.       Mornington Peninsula

A fun night has left you feeling a little dusty? Mornington has got you covered. The namesake for our Flat White IPA is home to amazing natural thermal baths, making it the perfect destination for R&R. Once you’re fully recovered saunter down to one of the many great beaches, bring some tinnies and repeat the process.

3.       12 Apostles

The most famous stop on the Great Ocean Road, the 12 Apostles are a four-hour drive from Melbourne. Only eight of these giant limestone structures remain with five falling victim to erosion. Base yourself at one of the many amazing vantage points and drink to the fallen homies.

4.       Bells Beach

Surfs up! Home to the world’s longest running surf competition, the Rip Curl Pro, Bells Beach is regarded as one of Australia’s best surf beaches. Perch yourselves on top of the cliffs, bring an esky (Australian for cooler box) full of beer and watch some of the best surfers rip it up.

5.       Erskine Falls

“Don’t go chasing waterfalls” Great tune, bad advice. Especially for this beauty of a waterfall in the Otway National Park. Only two hours outside Melbourne, but you would be forgiven for thinking you were in a dense jungle in the middle of the Amazon. A 30-metre drop sees the Erskine Falls surge down into the dense tree-fern gully of the Erskine River.

Mornington is available at our taproom and in 32oz Crowlers on our webshop. Best enjoyed with mates at the end of long day’s drive.
